Man’s search for meaning-23
Yesterday
I received a video clip where Minister Nitin Gadkari was seen interacting with an
audience… he stated that nowadays new technology is coming up which will ensure
massive savings to the country, if introduced.
- Then he added that people in government are reluctant so as to avoid backlashes in case of complaints later on…
- He cited an instance of acute resistance to a new proposal at Haldia port, Kolkata… even from the Chairman level.
·
Minister added that
he put a team of experts on the Job including the head of IIT, Chennai and
implemented the new scheme, that will be saving Rs 250 Cr to the country every
year, so he added.
- Our reluctance to change is proverbial... hence we even carry the legacies of British though they left some 75 years ago…
- The bureaucracy, trained on those lines refuses to budge….
- We are all daily victims of such rigidities and reluctance… I am sure each Indian will be able to give instances if they try to recall…
·
So, the Minister
added jokingly… that he told once a government official that he appreciates him
for his tenacity…
- he was happy to hear that and wanted to know the reason...
- so, the minister added that he loves the files more than even his wife… as he sits on files for months together…
- the irony of the case is self-evident… but nothing will change permanently…
- what is gathered over decades or even centuries, will it go away…. Can one hope even ???
