 Jagrata... Jagrata

The first five stanzas conveyed the reasons for our bondage in this fleeting world… though known, one is not able to rise above them.. due to Vasanas  and Prarabda…moha maya…

सम्पदः स्वप्नसँकाशाः

 यौवनँ कुसुमोपम्।

विधुच्चन्चचँल आयुषँ

तस्मात् जाग्रत जाग्रत॥-6

Possessions are fleeting, youth is similar to a flower, life time itself is akin to a lightning… conveying the ephemeral/fleeting nature of things we know… hence be alert .. alert

 All take great pride in their possessions, abilities, youth, looks, body etc.. not knowing that all are fleeting… we have seen the plight of all those who have come to this planet… yet we think that we will escape…. Indeed a childish thinking… that is what the Acharya reminds us in these lines..

The life of even 100 years pass of very fast.. ask any one who is in the sixties and above.. they will testify that the time flew away… fast.. that is the reality..

So meditate…  on the fleeting nature and what one should do.. hereafter..
