Jagrata .. Jagrata
The stanzas covered so far have given a vivid picture of one’s life on this planet. Any thinking person will be concerned about such a life..
क्षणँ वित्तँ क्षणँ चित्तँ
क्षणँ जीवितमावयोः।
यमस्य करूणा नास्ति
तस्मात् जाग्रत जाग्रत॥-5
Wealth, intellect, and life itself are momentary…. The Lord of Death has no lenience/mercy on beings.. when time comes, one has to leave forthwith… hence be alert.. alert
Here the Acharya cautions about the meeting with Yama… who is merciless to one and all.. None can extend the allotted time… so we have seen people leaving this world many a time untimely/unexpected … being aware of this fact should make one humble and alert.. and at the same time grateful for the wonderful opportunity given to live...
Yesterday, the country had a very shocking and heart breaking news.
Quote- CDS Gen Bipin Rawat killed in chopper crash in Tamil Nadu's Coonoor, confirms IAF. Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other personnel died after the Indian Air Force chopper they were travelling in crashed near Coonor near Tamil Nadu's Nilgiri hill district. ….The aircraft was on its way from Sulur IAF base in Coimbatore to Defence Staff College in Wellington. ( TOI ).Unquote.
Let us pray to God to give strength and courage to all the affected families to cope with their irreparable loss.... and also pray for the departed souls...May their Souls Rest in Peace.
How death snatches lives cannot be fathomed by anyone.. the above case will testify… the CDS was to address a group of faculty and trainees at the Defence College yesterday… all ended without any forewarning..
This is the fate of human life on this planet… it has no respect for the position and background of the persons involved… when the time comes… the end comes in mysterious ways… surviving people can only gape in wonder over the fate/turn of events… totally helpless with all advancements in technology etc… we are all totally helpless… so the events show/remind from time to time…
Worth meditating… .. that is what Acharya seems asking us to do.. Punah... Punah.. again and again....
