 Jagrata... Jagrata

The first 3 stanzas covered the external and internal hurdles in our quest for emancipation.. one is bound by such factors… here the Acharya stresses further on the greatest stumbling block-desires..

आशाया बध्यते जन्तुः

कर्मणा बहुचिन्तया।

आयु क्षीणँ न जानाति

 तस्मात् जाग्रत जाग्रत॥-4

 The animal tendencies   bind  one to endless desires…and bound by them as also the work  takes … in this process one fails to notice the flow of Kala.. time … hence it is advised to be alert… alert always..

It is well known that a human being…  called a social animal… is bound by desires… each has different desires… but all have desires… there are no exceptions…

Rising above them is the final goal advocated in Vedanta for liberation…. Though highly difficult too..

Let us ponder its role in our life… and impact..
