Day 170

 Man’s Search for Meaning-27

Martyrdom of Sepoy H Vysakh

Sepoy Vysakh was one among  five brave army men, who lost their lives this week while combing terrorists in the Poonch sector, J&K .

  • Vysakh the pillar of his small family joined army at the young age of 19 years… very recently he accomplished his dream of building a house for his family…. he was in Kerala a few months back to move to the new house.
  • A youth of mere 24 years with lots of potential was snatched away by the cruel fate…. due to man- made terrorism and criminalization…

It is at such times the current theme of the blog …. Stands out… what is the meaning of life… is there any meaning at all? …

Philosophers, theologists' and common experts/man have their own pet theories… treatises and volumes are available in libraries and book shops since long….

All these have no meaning for the person who is buried at an untimely age…. or for his close kith and kin….

(Vysakh's mortal remains are yet to reach Kerala while writing this blog).

Hence the hard fact is that….

  • THERE IS NO REAL MEANING FOR THIS EXISTENCE/LIFE… which we consider very precious, divine etc.….
  • just a whiff of air… now it is there… now it is not… like bubbles in the water… some lingers for some time… some burst early… or clouds in the sky…
  • like those human beings, like animals in jungles etc.… take birth and live for an uncertain period…meet with an end… timely or untimely… and vanishes… forever...
  • hence searching for meaning etc. is a futile exercise… FUTILE INDEED..
  • Sarvam Kshanikam, Kshanikam, Sarvam Dukham Dukham - Gautama Buddha.

One meaning is there though.

जातस्य हि ध्रुवो मृत्युर्

Death is certain for one who is born…  (Bhagavad Gita.)

jnanadeva tu kaivalyam-

 “ज्ञानादेव कैवल्यम्”

When such news hit you suddenly…., periodically,.... day after day, year after year… decades after decades…. even after millennia's... then one wonder’s- like a child gazing at the stars-…. what is the meaning of life?

  • Death of  Vysakh, barely 24 years old, has deadened  part of my own enthusiasm...@
  • while bowing my head before the supreme sacrifice of those 5 brave soldiers, as also countless others in the past....
  • I earnestly pray to God Almighty to give their families Peace of Mind to face the irreparable loss... with courage and fortitude....
  • RIP ....

@with this sad piece my five months of  blogging ends.

Be Peaceful. Be safe.

Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu.

  1. Yes, Vysakh’s life has a powerful meaning.
Meaning of His Life was that He was borne to protect us and died as a Martyr.

  4. Their supreme sacrifice for their motherland is a grim reminder to all citizens of this country that the freedom of everything in this beenvolent nation (where the citizens value their rights more over their duties towards the) is at the cost of unknown heroes who give their lives for their peace. It is incumbent on all to object, shun and oppose all anti natinalistic parties and ideologies. As for the great sacrifice of the valient soldiers the army lives by the following great ethos...
"To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
    Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his Gods."

    Salute the warriors
