Greatest service is to share with others the joys of living
Who will teach Hinduism to Hindus is a question that
cropped up in my mind while going through some uncomfortable videos recently.
An average Hindu/ girl today is divorced of the real
essence of the religion, which was covered earlier too. Though the Hindu
philosophy is very simple, the same is delivered as highly complex by many with
the result the layman is confused.
ü
Who will correct the misconceptions?
ü
First, who will tell the real tenets?
ü
How to reach the masses?
ü
Will the temples take up the task?
ü Will the Hindu religious bodies, which are in
thousands, bell the cat?
Million-dollar questions indeed. It is sad when the Hindu boys and girls cut a very sorry figure on their own religious principles.
Formal education of today/tomorrow may not help in this
regard.
With many parents lacking proper education even, how they can supplement?
Questions galore. Should one ask them or ignore them?
What choice is before us? Worth a serious thought. Don't you think ?
Be happy. Be
safe.

Layman confusion is the ultimate cause to such misconceptions... indeed an need of a Though
ReplyDeleteIt seems that academic and professional progress is consuming the life of people so much that they hardly reach out for the religious scriptures of Hinduism which is all about art living. Awareness is required for the same. Our kids have no such syllabus. Sanskrit and Hindi are treated as options. History books have nothing about our rich heritage. In such scenarios, what are your suggestions for spreading awareness.
ReplyDeleteDeeply appreciate your blog.
Thank you,Madam.
DeleteMuch can be done and much needs to be done.
First the educated should take a lead..at least in voicing to start with..rest will follow..
Our scriptures are strong enough to show us the way..

ReplyDeleteIn my humble opinion,Hinduism can be taught to Hindus by adopting a system of education in Gurukulams like initiative taken by Baba Ramdevji wherein already over 1000 children r enrolled for Vedic type education.
However,it is the responsibility of the parents who should first become true Hindus n encourage their children for such value based education.lt should start from home as it is said charity begins at home.
Muslims r sending their children to madrassas compulsorily, similarly Hindus should start sending their children to Gurukuls/Balvihars.
Our country is a multi-religious nation, hence a bit difficult proposition but it is not impossible task in the long run provided v make a start /begining now in letter n spirit.
It is a big subject to discuss but who will bell the cat.
Thanks n regards

Congratulations on hitting half century (blog).
ReplyDeleteVery pertinent questions raised in today's post.
Lack of awareness of basic tenets of one's own dharma is major draw back.
Each individual should come forward to study/understand our scriptures.
How to do this, who will take the initiative is the big question, as rightly pointed out by you.
