Man is in constant search for many things in the world, starting from God
. But many have not searched their own origin sufficiently. Did they?
Hence, probably, Adi Shankaracharya in Bhaja Govindam, asks
the following-
|
का ते कांता कस्ते पुत्रः, |
kaate kaantaa kaste putrah samsaaro.ayamatiiva Vichitrah kasya tvam kaH kuta aayatah tattvam chintaya tadiha bhratah .. |
O Brother, Who is your wife ? Who is your son ?
· Strange indeed is this world. Of whom are you born ?
·
From where have you come ? Reflect
over these truths now.
From a microscopic sperm is the origin of all living beings, whether it is a mighty elephant or Whale or of course, the acme of creations- human being.
But how many will be happy to take an imaginary tour of
their own birth…. from conception to the stage of greatness, which some people
come to possess accidentally and flout….
They will be truly humbled, if they take to the questions posed by the great Acharya. Will they not? Then the end is also equally, Vichitram—विचित्रः----strange as stated by the Acharya.
All, without exception, return to mother earth in one form or other and
become mere dust…
What is there to be proud of this brief existence is the spiritual
query of thinking people down the ages.
Isn’t it worth reflecting/
Be happy . Be safe.
