Jagrata .. jagrata
In the first sloka Acharya had denied/discarded all types of bodily relationships/relations… Here he is conveying that in every stage in our life sorrow is inherent…
जन्म दुःखँ जरा दुःखँ
जाया दुःखँ पुनः पुनः।
सँसारसागरँ दुःखँ
तस्मात् जाग्रत जाग्रत॥- 2
Sorrow
or pain is associated with birth , aging , with partner in life…world itself is sorrowful, therefore he cautions us to be
alert.. alert always..
- Though we may not recall our own birth and the pain thereof, we know that birth process is a painful process both to mother and child…
- we have experienced the pain associated with other dimensions in life… though it offers occasional happiness also, it all ends in sorrow and pain… as the final end is death of near and dear…
- all these entail sorrow and pain.. how to escape from this… is a perennial quest…
Acharya
asks us to reflect on these lines…
Let us also meditate…
