The search for meaning can
take different turns….
I came across a video clipping very recently.
· A teenage girl approached her grandfather asks an innocent question-
why he is listening to Raghupati Raghava Rajaram bhajan every day.
· He replies that since childhood
he is listening to it and he likes it as it was the favourite bhajan of
Bapuji.
· Then she asks why he is a follower of Bapuji.
· To which he states that Bapuji stood for truth and followed that path
relentlessly.
· Here the girl replied that the Song itself is incorrect as the
original version written by Laxmanacharya
is not having the lines sung in the
Bhajan.
Then she went on to show the original lyrics
on her mobile(as given below) and also played
the original version of the song
on her mobile.

सुंदर विग्रह मेघश्याम गंगा तुलसी शालग्राम ॥

There after she asks her grandfather- now on whose side he is- on
Gandhiji’s or Truth of the matter …
· Old man is perplexed and speechless.
· Here the narrator adds that one
should have the courage to accept the truth and
respect the youngsters’ view as they are not afraid of calling spade a spade.
I had come across the
original version of this Bhajan some two decades back.. and was not at all
surprised by the Girl’s doubt and questions. But many millions brought up in those beliefs
must be still under the old impression……
Thanks to the internet era
and the information availability, one is out of many myths and could dispel many misinformation.
· As stated in the book- India
that is Bharat, we need enlightenment on
many matters.

India must awaken to the truth that colonial cloak covered and our certain ruling class and their select mentors perpetuated the colonial mentality. I see the recognition of this falsity largely will drive the change. Ramjanmabhoomi is symbolic in this direction followed by changes in the recent educational policy and the other drivers will sure to bring about transformation of India and give it a distinctive and native rich cultural identity.
