We saw in the last blog the courageous and life giving act of Late Captain Vikram Batra, which will inspire any one with national pride and love for the mother land- in all days and years to come.
It is in this connection, the following quote written on the walls of the Army Camp at Shimla, that Anupam Kher read out in a video recently brings out the true valour/mind set of our brave soldiers, who are defending/protecting us from all around enemies all the time of the year.
The words themselves are so courageous/motivating and charging for anyone, more so for our beloved Jawans', who have taken the solemn pledge to defend the honour of this country at any cost-literally.
मंजिलें मिले न मिले, ये तो मुकद्दर की बात है,
हम कोशिश ही न करे,ये तो गलत बात है
Who khoon khis matlab ka,
Jis mein ravani na ho
Jo khoon desh ke kaam na aa
sake
Woh khoon nahi paani hai
Is baat ka koi mahatva nahi hai
Manushya marta khis tarah hai
Abh mahatva iss baat ka hai
Woh jeeta khis tarah hai . ( excuse me for the errors, if any)
Many may not have the courage to join Army. Further all cannot join Army
also, as their quota is also not unlimited. But are we ready if there is a
chance or need?
1)I am reminded of an anecdote
heard from the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. In one of the public
meetings someone asked him.. Sir you are able to speak almost all languages
except zyz language. For
this it seems he replied…. We have many
soldiers from most of the States in the country. But there are hardly anybody
from the state you had mentioned. What is the moral of the Story? People from
that state were not keen to join Army.
2) I have heard another anecdote.. every woman
desires a child like Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.. but he should be born to some other woman… What does that convey?
3) Every one is fond of Sita’s story and
sacrifices. But few wants to be in her chappals….What does this mean?
Getting back to the quote above, we
need courageous people in all fields, more so to join Army . Then only the mother land will be
protected and people will be able to sit in studios and other places and do T V /other debates over trivialities- as
seen ad nauseum.
We should be able to recognize Real Heroes and worship them, or at least support their deeds and eulogize them – definitely not demoralize them- at least- at any time. Unfortunately, lot of learning is needed in the last area.
The current tradition of remembering army people only during calamities must give way to a culture of remembering /honouring them 365 days of the yea8, as they defend unconditionally ,the motherland 365x24 perennially.
The above one quote can change life… as it is relevant not only for army
people , but for every citizen who loves this great country. What do you think?
Be happy. Be safe.

ReplyDeleteKeep going. Regards.
Thank you for a most relevant topic. These days when one of the section is always after a proof may be beyond doubt. The sacrifice of Great Batra in a situation of the kind indeed brings tears. Children should be told such stories to instill love for the nation and make them aware about the GREAT SONS OF THIS MOTHER COUNTRY.
